This building on Capitol Square was, like many in the area, a victim of repeated remodeling according to styles and whims of the decades. Our firm was retained to return the building to its original turn-of-the-century design. Archival photographs were referenced to confirm the original storefront configuration and to duplicate the original cast iron columns. Large scale storefront windows and metal cornices were restored to the facade. In addition, improvements were made on the interior: offices were reconfigured, skylights were restored, and the 35,000 square feet of retail shops and owner/tenant offices were remodeled to evoke the original character of the spaces.
