Quality Assurance and Construction Manager

A Master Electrician by trade and Electrical Inspector, Mike has over 30 years’ experience in Contracting, Construction Project Management, Facility Management, and Maintenance Management. His work within the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections, brings a unique skill set to KONTEXT architects. Mike is active in all phases of projects including Programming, Cost Estimating, Design Constructability, Quality Assurance, and Construction Administration.

Claire Allen

Intern Designer

What Claire likes to do for fun- “I love to create things, re-furbishing furniture and drawing. I am at my happiest when I am with my family and dog or with friends during a game night or to watching a movie. Some of my favorite past times are hiking in nature and driving around to look at historical houses.”

What Claire likes most about KONTEXT- “There are so many things to love about Kontext. Above all, I appreciate the close-knit work environment that gives me the opportunity to experience all areas of projects as an intern. I love being a part of the design process and getting to see projects in their different phases.”

I am a Junior at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in the Interior Architecture program, with a minor in Business Management.

Myranda Devocelle

What Myranda likes to do for fun-” Outside of work I enjoy watching movies with my husband and spending time with friends and family. I love to hang out and play with my two adorable kitties and cute little hedgehog.

What Myranda enjoys about KONTEXT-” I love the family enviroment at Kontext. It is amazing to be excited to go to work and know you will be learning new things and of couse have a few laughs during your work day.”

Erin Detwiler

What Erin likes to do for fun: “I can often be found cycling back roads and trails around Madison or swimming at a local pool. I also enjoy teaching developing swimmers a lifelong love for swimming and the life lessons it offers. I spend many hours gardening and trying to entertain my dog in the backyard. With gardening comes the fun of experimenting with flavors and pairing different food and drink to share with friends and family.”

What Erin enjoys about working at KONTEXT: “I enjoy being able to work with a knowledgeable and experienced group of professionals, who care about our clients and the spaces we design for them both functionally and aesthetically.”

Amy Hasselman, AIA NCARB

Project Architect

What Amy likes to do for fun- “I enjoy being outside with friends and family. Mostly playing soccer, mountain biking, kayaking, hiking and cross-country skiing. When the weather gets too cold, I love to read in front of the fire with a cat on my lap and a beer in my hand.”

What Amy enjoys most at KONTEXT- “As a project manager and architect I enjoy taking old buildings and making them useful and beautiful again. I love to help people love their buildings.”

Eva Allen, CSI, Associate AIA

Contract/Project Manager

Eva has had the joy of being apart of the KONTEXT family since 2012. She is directly involved in the development and execution of projects and assists in the day to day management needs. In obtaining her Construction Document Technologist Certification, Eva has broad knowledge of the project delivery process, contracts, drawings and specifications, construction documentation and administration.

What Eva likes to do for fun: “Outside of work, you will find me spending time with my family, friends and my puppy – or curled up reading a good book. I love the outdoors, fall is my favorite time of the year – The smell of campfire in the air is one of my favorites –”

What Eva enjoys most at KONTEXT: “I have been blessed with a “work family” that allows me to learn and grow with every project. I truly love doing what I do. I enjoy working with owners, contractors, engineers and peers as well as being a part of the design end of projects to being able to see it through to construction.”

Kelly B. Thompson AIA, CSI

Principal Architect/Owner

Prior to beginning KONTEXT Architects, LLC, Mr. Thompson was, from 2001-2008, Principal Architect and Director of Design at Facility Engineering, Inc. in Madison Wis. His skills and expertise in contextual design, historic restoration and building envelope technologies, and complex project management grew a discrete, yet highly regarded architectural service.

Currently, as owner and Principal Architect of KONTEXT Architects, LLC, Kelly strives to grow a multi-disciplined architectural firm focused on relationship building, responsible design and environmental stewardship.
